Battlegasm has an official history, an unofficial history and several boxes in Lausanne whose contents have not improved either one. The record book begins in 2019. The stories do not.
Recognized competition begins in 2019. Modern scoring begins in 2024. The IBGF begins in 2026. Season One is the first BATTLEGASM television season, not the first season of the sport. Pre-2019 exhibitions remain archival material, not championship results.

Regional exhibitions move through basements, banquet rooms, private clubs and whatever conference space a promoter can secure after 10 p.m. Equipment is incompatible, judging is local and surviving footage is mostly second-generation tape. None of the results belong to the recognized record book. Everyone still has an opinion about them.
The first standardized championship is held and Magnus Joy wins the inaugural Golden Grin. The event receives provisional medical clearance through paperwork that later becomes the subject of the so-called Disassociation File: at least one denial form appears to have been filed with the wrong box checked. The result is recognized. The paperwork remains somebody else's argument.
International event restrictions suspend the championship. Remote exhibitions continue, including the disputed Home Finish Series, but none satisfy independent equipment and officiating requirements. The Golden Grin remains unawarded. Several tapes do not.
Competition resumes under stricter medical, consent and venue standards. Dr. Evelyn Sparks wins the Golden Grin in Control, retires at the closing press conference and begins the improbable path toward becoming Battlegasm's most trusted technical commentator.
Promoters, Pros, medical advisers and national organizing bodies form the World Climaxthletics Council, a transitional standards body. The WCC begins unifying equipment rules, arguing about sensor headroom and building the Recognition Working Group that later becomes Climaxthletics 2036.
The Lagos Calibration Event drives adoption of second-generation telemetry after first-generation hardware records the official equivalent of “more than we built it for.” The Finnisher wins his first Golden Grin. This is the final championship season classified as Legacy scoring.
The sport formally separates the 0.00–10.00 Gasm Score from the 0–100 Gasm Index. WCADA is established during the same regulatory transition. Climaxine wins the first Golden Grin under the modern code. Arguments become measurable without becoming shorter.
Five Majors align under one championship calendar. The Finnisher wins his second Golden Grin by 0.06 and becomes the first member of the Grinners' Circle. By season's end the independent circuit is functionally a global sport waiting for someone to admit it needs a federation.
Forty-one national and territorial bodies ratify the International Battlegasm Federation. The Lausanne Continuity Clause inherits recognized championships and records back to 2019. Speed is ratified as the sixth certified discipline. BGTV cameras join the existing tour at the Pacific Rim, and Channel 63 begins carrying a broadcast package nobody has successfully described as restrained.
Pre-2024 performances remain official, but converted values are labeled Legacy-Equivalent whenever modern component evidence is incomplete. Championships count. Measurement era travels with the record.
BGTV maintains broadcast copies of recognized finals and selected pre-lineage exhibitions. Some masters are missing, some labels contradict the event files, and one entire box is marked only DO NOT AIR AGAIN.
